Via Bus
Just a three minute stroll from the lodges, local busses can be caught along Main Street. Busses also run to and fro Southwell from The Red Lion Pub in Thurgarton.
Via Train
Only three minutes drive or a twenty minute walk to Bleasby Railway Station, great for links into the historic town of Newark. Direct trains to Fiskerton, Rolleston and Newark Castle via East Midlands Railways. You can also buy train tickets via TrainLine

The River
Riverside Country Lodges is perfectly situated alongside The River Trent, the third longest river in the United Kingdom, which has been used as a navigation since Roman Times and even since the Danish Vikings came up the Trent to Snottingaham in their longships.

Dog Walkers Paradise
Footpaths stretch the entire length of the riverside, starting from the lodge site at Boat Lane, perfect for strolls with your loved animals. There are also many Dog Friendly locations to quench your thirst or have some lunch, such as The Bromley in Fiskerton located on the map.

The Bromley
The Bromley perfect riverside spot to eat, also being dog friendly. Further up river you will find The Riverside at Farndon, for a great dine-in evening meal. Explore the wonderful local towns of Southwell or Newark which boast some amazing places to visit as well as many fantastic restaurants, bars and more. Southwell also has great coffee shops, a Boots Chemist, Family Butchers, Bakery and a large Co-Op supermarket. Either town will provide everything you require.

The Workhouse in Southwell (National Trust) – This Victorian building tells the story of the workhouse program.

Southwell Minister – Church of England place of worship in a spectacular 1100s Romanesque space with regular services.

The Bramley Apple pub – King Charles I spent his last evening here before being sent to London for execution.

Southwell Racecourse – If you love horses and horseracing, this is the place to visit.

Southwell Golf Course – Fancy nine holes? If you love your golf, this is a popular course.

Newark Castle & Gardens – This historical castle with dungeons, Victorian gardens & a King John exhibit offers guided tours.

The Civil War Museum in Newark is dedicated to the 17th-century Civil Wars featuring diverse exhibits & living history events.
